INSTRUCTIONS
Project 2A
For this task, we were separated into 2 groups to film 2 different types of
video. I was in group S and was tasked with filming scenes from the movie
'Silent'. During our initial meeting, we were delegating tasks and roles. My
role was to hold up the boom mic to record the actors voices as well as
ambience.
We shot and recorded a total of 8 shots for 3 scenes. These scenes would
then be trimmed and audio dubbed in Premier Pro.
Firstly, I imported the files over to Premier Pro and started trimming the clips and audio to match.
After that, I continued to edit the clips so there was no extra seconds that drag the scene long with no benefit.
To finish off the video, I switched up the order of the clips so it makes more sense and has a flow.
Final Mise En Scene Video
For this task, I had to create a self titled short reel that depicts my
personality/my day to day. I decided to go with a more moody theme, showing
an average day to day of my life. I titled in My version of Groundhog
day.
Moving on to the editing phase, I inserted music as well to pair with my video. The song is titled 'Nothing's New' by Rio Romeo. I find the song matching well with the idea and meaning behind this video.

Reflection
The tasks opened my eye on filming. It helped me realize that there are
also many other aspects to consider besides angles and shooting. Aspects
like lighting and sound was very crucial as well. Working together as a crew
was also fun and a good experience. We learned how to work together and
delegate different tasks and roles. The further editing was also interesting
as I learned how to color code and create a general theme and vibe for the
whole video. The process of bringing a scene to life unfolded systematically, encompassing tasks such as conceptualizing the shot, capturing reference images, documenting settings, conducting test shots, refining the final shot, integrating sound, and, notably, color grading. Beyond the technicalities, what impressed me most was the project's step-by-step guidance, following a structured approach that significantly bolstered its effectiveness in realizing my objective. Moving forward, I aim to incorporate this systematic framework into my future shooting endeavors, convinced that it will undeniably enhance the overall production value of my work.
