Week 9
This week, there are no classes, so we can continue working on our posters and seek feedback from Miss Anis. (refer to week 9 feedback)
Week 10
During this week's session, Mr. Hafiz instructed us on the topic of Light & Shadow. We were given the opportunity to enhance our understanding by applying this knowledge to draw the contrasting dark and light regions of pears and human figures.
INSTRUCTIONS
For Project 2, your task is to participate in the Maybank Foundation MyTIGER Values Art Competition 2023. Create an illustration poster that reflects your project's objective through the lens of Maybank TIGER core values: Teamwork, Integrity, Growth, Excellence & Efficiency, and Relationship Building. The theme I chose is 'Climate Change', aligning with one of the 12 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Research
| Fig 1.1 Inspiration |
I did some research on my theme to find some inspiration. Since it was a illustration class, we were limited to illustrations and could not use photos as our subjects. These 3 posters gave me a sense of direction for my poster. I thought of some taglines that were catchy and landed on 'Winter is not coming'.
| Fig 1.2 First attempt |
This was my first attempt at the poster design. I looked for vectors online that could be retrieved. I also incorporated techniques such as the 3D effect on my subject and title. However, after consulting Ms Anis, I decided to remove it as it gave a very cluttered look to the overall poster. She also advised me to add more elements that shows the effect of climate change. I decided to add a bright orange sun that spread through the poster. I ended up with this as my final result.

Reflection
Experience
Overall my experience doing this task was enjoyable. Though I got into a creative block at the start when retrieving materials for my poster, I really enjoyed the entire process. I created a poster that I felt proud of.
