INSTRUCTIONS

"Self-titled is an exploration project for the students to express their own individuality and reflect their personality into digital art self-expression. The main idea is to build up self-confidence and discover their interest."

Research

Fig 1.1 Research

I did some research and find inspiration on what I wanted to my self titled poster to be. I found this type of design resonated with me.

Next, I chose my picture to experiment with.

Fig 1.2 Half tone

I created a half-tone effect on my subject and made a few copies to show multiple versions of myself.

Fig 1.3 Duplicate and color

I added more elements that resonated with me.

Fig 1.4 Adding elements

This is my final poster. I added many elements that spoke to me. The words and thoughts that flow through my head. I added a lot of textures as well and different color schemes layered on each other.

After achieving my desired result, I started editing the video effects using Adobe After Effects. I made the elements move about from different positions in the canvas and added music to it.

This is my final self titled moving poster.

Feedback:

Reflection

Experience: Engaging in this project presented me with significant challenges, particularly because it involved creating an animation of my own portrait. Although I have some familiarity with After Effects, my limited experience hindered my progress and made the process more demanding. However, I appreciated the opportunity to express myself creatively through this project, overcoming the obstacles along the way.

Observations: I enjoyed observing the works of others and how they express themselves through the form of art.

Findings: I gained skills learning After Effects.
